Am I alone in sleeping with the light on, light on
Drifting on a current that pretends to be a mother’s arms, tending to a voyage meant to find a, find a, new world just beyond where light is not a means of being seen

Am I alone in dreaming with a camera, camera, framing every memory with melancholy reverie, taken with the faces that remind a, mind of, places now remembered for the sake of not remembering

I’m not of the cut, to seek out meaning
In whatever might stop to catch my eye
This head is a blur, of thought and feeling
That buries the days in fits of night

Often I would wonder about the ones who lost it, was it in a vacuum, was it sudden, can a person feel the difference 'tween a day and then the day come after, is it like repeating a word until it’s nothing but absurd

And now it’s me with nothing but the me I’m hunting, trying to make sense of whether I am prey or predator, seeking out a scent of what is tamed or wilder, ness amongst a vanity of ill fitting insanity

I’m the not of the fold, there is no after
To decipher the now that came before
I do what I’m told, and skim the chapters
To keep appearances up and nothing more

A rush, fills me...as I’m done thinking
Too much, stills me...as I am sinking in
The light, keeps me...drenched in weariness
It might, leave me...lost though here in this
